Dr. Wilf Keller

Throughout his 40-year science career, Wilf contributed to many major research initiatives. These include the application of biotechnology in canola improvement; the development and application of genomics technologies; production of bioactive natural products in plants for enhanced human health; and contribution to the development of the Protein Industries Canada Global Innovation Cluster initiative. His leadership roles span a variety of organizations including Agriculture Canada, Plant Biotechnology Institute (National Research Council Canada), Genome Prairie and Ag-West Bio.

Wilf served as a Board Director for Protein Industries Canada and is still an active Board Member for the Global Council for Innovation in Rapeseed and Canola. A valued contributor in his field, Wilf is the honoured recipient of Saskatchewan Order of Merit (2015) and inductee in both the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame (2017) and Canadian Agriculture Hall of Fame (2018).

In Protein Industries Canada's 2020 Annual General Meeting, Dr. Keller was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership for his contribution to Protein Industries Canada and Canada’s agrifood sector.
