A Message from Bill Greuel, CEO Protein Industries Canada

There is no doubt that we are in challenging times here in Canada and around the world.

At Protein Industries Canada, the health and well-being of our employees and partners is our number one priority. To do our part to help flatten the curve and combat COVID-19, all Protein Industries Canada staff are now working from home. We are still available and would be happy to meet with you via phone, email or video-call. All our in-person events through summer are currently canceled. We, like everyone else, will monitor the situation and will make decisions on future events as appropriate.

There is no question that we all need to be prepared to do business differently in the coming months. We are continuing to work through our project pipeline and advance projects. As much as possible, we will do our part to make sure companies who are working with Protein Industries Canada have the support they need to keep progressing.

We are in frequent communication with the department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and have assurance from them, as of today, that the Innovation Supercluster Initiative will not be subject to disruptions from the Government of Canada. We recognize however, that projects may not be able to advance at their intended pace. We understand this and will work with clients to balance the health and safety of employees with Protein Industries Canada project work.

We are also looking at new ways to provide important information and resources to our members, so that you can continue business or resume normal business as soon as possible. The agrifood sector is vital to Canadian’s economy and we will do our part to ensure our industry weathers these uncertain times.
