On behalf of Protein Industries Canada, I am pleased to welcome Dr. Bob Tyler as the interim Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Working with our diverse stakeholders, Bob will lead the development of Protein Industries Canada’s project selection process, including the design of application templates and evaluation criteria. He will serve in this role until March 31, 2019.
Bob brings an extensive background in research, education, crop processing, food processing, and product development. Bob is a professor in the Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences, and an Associate Member in the Department of Plant Sciences, at the University of Saskatchewan. During his 40-year career, he has served in a variety of leadership positions including Department Head, Associate Dean, and Acting Dean in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. He has also made substantial contributions as a Director for Mustard Capital and the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre. Bob is currently chair of Ag-West Bio and also the chair of the Agri-Food Council, which oversees 20 agri-food marketing and development boards and development commissions in Saskatchewan.
Supporting the right projects is critical for unleashing the protein potential of our crops. Bob’s knowledge and experience will be instrumental in building Protein Industries Canada’s project selection process. We are fortunate to have Bob join our team.
