Protein Industries Canada Announces New Board of Directors

On June 24, at their annual general meeting, Protein Industries Canada elected their first permanent board of directors. The 11-person board is made up of four independent members and seven industry members. The geographically diverse board represents the spectrum of the agriculture and food industry, along with expertise in legal, financial industries and Indigenous Engagement.

Frank Hart returns as Chair of the Board.

“This slate represents a strong and diverse board of directors, who bring a wealth of experience and skills, and who will support the continued growth of Protein Industries Canada over the next year,” Chair of the Board of Directors Frank Hart said. “The skills the new board members bring, complement the existing skills of the returning directors from the interim board.”

Three members from the interim board chose to step away after their initial term. Protein Industries Canada thanks Wade Barnes, Farmers Edge; JoAnne Buth, Canadian International Grains Institute and Robynne Anderson; Emerging Ag for their commitment and dedication.

“Over the past 18 months, the Protein Industries Canada board of directors, with the support of many others, have turned concept into reality,” Hart said. “We have built a strong team dedicated to addressing the opportunities before us and have accomplished a great deal to get the organization up and running, but there is no question we are on a fast-moving journey. I am confident in the new boards’ ability to continue to guide us on this journey.”
